New sunglasses

Ryan wasnt looking very amused last night. I was almost time for bed. This morning I put on his new sunglasses. Susan gave him those for his birthday. Today is patriotic day at school.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. We have nothing to do and I absolutely love it. I think it has been months since we havent had plans on a weekend. We(I) am enjoying our new place. Its quiet and I am sleeping like a baby. Will write again soon.

Finally

Well, last night Ryan played in his room by himself. He in the last few weeks was climbing my legs everytime I walked out of the room. Last night we had dinner and I changed him into his new superman pj's and he played and played and played. I would walk out of the room and do something, go check on him. Then I sat on the couch and listened to him play. I relaxed for about 5 minutes. I could hear him clanking toys around. Then he came out into the living room. I went and turned his light off in his bedroom. After about 5 minutes he took off like crazy going to his room. I think he was going back to play in room. Finally!!!!!!!!!! I think he needed to get used to his new surroundings. Now we are working on getting rid of the bottle. I wont be so hard during the day but the night bottle will be horrible. He's so attached. After that is the pacifier. He only gets that when he sleeps. Actually that will be a long time because when he has surgery its a life saver. Well today was western day at school. He wore bids and a new shirt. Yesterday it was PJ day. He wore his other superman pj's. Tomorrow is Patriotic Day. He is wearing a flag shirt with jeans but then I thought about his cub shirt. Baseball is american. So we'll see. I got a cool shirt from Holly Jo. Its a baseball shirt and it has Chicago Cubs on it then above that it says Kunkel 07. Its so cute. Ryan got so many awesome things for his bday. If you go to the website customglamgirl.com then click on glam baby. You can get the coolest stuff. Check it out.
Well have a good thursday. Its suppose to be nice this weekend. Ryan and I have no plans and that is wonderful. Will write again in a couple of days.

Pics

Ill post some pics from the party some time this week. I need to get my camera out and download some first. Sorry for the delay!!!

Ryan's Bday Party

The gym was cool. They had basketball, scooters, hula hoops and an area for smaller kids. It was mats and things to climb on. Ryan loved his cake and sucked on his fingers. He was tired after that and didn't open presents. He is not used to all the people and commotion. He took a nap after the party and we loaded up the car and went home. It was a fun party and lots of people came. I hope they enjoyed themselves. Thank you to everyone that came to celebrate with us and thanks for all who got Ryan such wonderful gifts. We truly appreciate you.

On Sunday Oma, Opa and Lindsay came over. Opa mowed the lawn and we trimmed the bushes and cleaned out the garage. Picked up sticks. The yard looks good. I washed some windows. Later I cooked some lunch for Ryan, Lindsay and I. We then went out and sat in the yard. I was such a beautiful day. Ryan didn't like the feel of the grass at first. He did want to touch it. But later he wanted to eat it. It was so relaxing sitting in the yard talking. Thanks Linds, I really enjoyed hanging out.

So I guess its decided that I'm having Christmas at my house. I look forward to that. Ill have to get some recipes and practice. I already now that I'm making a stuffing recipe that is April's(sister-in-law) mom's recipe. It is the best stuffing.

Well, that was our event filled weekend. Thanks everyone for helping me move and getting the place together. Everyone have a great week. I suppose to be a repeat weekend of nice weather. Enjoy it. I know we will. Take care.

Love
Becky and Ryan.

Continue Moving Day

I absolutely love the place and it already feels like home. Ryan definately didnt know where he was and our schedules are off a bit but we will be working on those this week. I have so much more room and enjoy the big yard. I know I eventually complain about mowing it. The bedrooms are getting painted today and I will get everything back in order. I have to organize things in the closets yet but its ok for now.

Moving Day

On friday Ryan had an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon. He thinks his feet look good. He did want to put him in braces right now. He wants to see how he does on his own when walking. Im hoping that we can go ahead and decrease physical therapy. After his appt I took him to daycare and went to help get things loaded for moving.

Oma, Opa, Eric(my brother), Carrie and Gary all helped with moving. They were awesome. We had 3 trucks, 2 trailers and 3 cars and got it in one trip. Now thats amazing. I thought it went smoothly. I cleaned the old place and it was ready to go. We got everything unloaded and the new place. Gary was sick, which I didnt know until the end, so thank you Gary. I really appreciate your help.

Carrie and Oma got the kitchen together and Opa and Eric got the rooms together. Ryan's room was ready for him to come home. We went back to Peoria for dinner at OMA's and so I could get Ryan. April and the kids came up and spent the night. It was nice to visit with them. I wish they lived closer. Of course they would tell me to move closer to them.

Carrie and Erika(neice) stayed with us on Friday. Ryan was up at 517am. 4 minutes before he was born. That was sweet and all but I would have been okay if had stayed asleep.

Ill write more later.

He's 1

Well, Im back at work. Oh, Im tired. I will have to write all thats happened in several different posts. We started our weekend on Thursday. Ryan saw Dr. Vegunta, his surgeon, and he got his feeding tube removed. Yippeee!!!! Hopefully the site will close on it's own or we will have to go into the OR and have it closed. He does have a hernia and it will eventually have to be repaired. They will have to undo the wrap or the surgery that was done the first time and repair the hernia and redo the wrap. Man that sucks. He wont hopefully have to have the G-tube placed. The surgery could be tomorrow or 2 years from now. It really depends on his symptoms. I wish all this was over. The first surgery sucked so I will assume it wont be a blast this time either.

Off the subject, Im listening to the new Avril Lavigne CD and really like.

Ok back to Ryan.
So anyway, he's doing well with his healthcare aspects as of now.

Look for my next post about moving.

See Ya

Im a mother of a 1 year old and let me tell ya the independence has already started.

Gone for a few days

Well, its Thursday and I leave work in one hour for Ryan's appointment. He sees the surgeon today. I hope he can have his feeding tube removed. What a great birthday present that would be for us both. I hope there are some good things. So tomorrow I move to Princeville with the help and many. Then Saturday is party day. I hope he enjoys it. I'm afraid that he will be really quiet. He is so shy around people he doesn't know. It will probably take him awhile to get used to the commotion. I hope her digs into in birthday cake and makes a mess. I will be bringing a change of clothes and lots of washcloths. If its nice we will bring him the the party place in his wagon as it is not that far from Oma and Opa's house. He loves wagon rides. Then if he is filthy with cake we can stroll him home and hose him off. I will have pictures and lots of news on Tuesday. Ill write then. Have a good weekend. Its suppose to be nice on Saturday and Ill be able to say officially I'm the mom of a one year old. Oh LORD!!!!!!!!!!

2 days left

Wow, only 2 days left till Ryan is 1. Its going fast. I know the party will also. It's going to be pure madness. We have the place from 2-430 and they have to have fun, eat cake and Ryan open gifts in 2 1/2 hours. Lord. Maybe I bit off more than I can chew. Oh well, live and learn.
Ryan hasn't been sleeping through the night lately. His new wake up time is 230am. So I try to rock him back asleep but last night he was being funny. Normally I can control myself but I burs ted out in laughter and then you was laughing. Finally he fell asleep, only after I could control my laughter. Going today to the new place and put some stuff away.
Ryan sees the surgeon on Thursday for the hernia. And Friday is the big move. Then the big day!!!! Well, gotta work. Will try to write tomorrow otherwise wont be until Tuesday as I will be off work for a few days. Wish I could say it was going to be relaxing but moving is never that. Have a good rest of the week and weekend.

Another Easter Photo

Ryan is laughing because he went forward like he was going to take a dive off the bench and Gary dove to catch him and he thought that was pretty funny.

The weekend is here, finally!!!!!!!!

WEll, I finally got some good sleep last night as did Ryan. We are trying to get well and stay well for his birthday is only one week away. We move in one week also. Alot of stuff going on right now so I have been very stressed out. Poor Susan at work has been massaging my shoulders. The sleep did help though. I have started packing boxes and will continue throughout the weekend. We have several appointments next week and will have little time of relaxation so Im trying to get most of it done this weekend. Oma is going to watch Ryan on Saturday for me so that I can have a break. I need one. A bunch of girls from work are going to have dinner. So that will be nice. Ryan is doing well. He has been clinging to me like crazy and he has started to get really excited and crawl really fast towards me when I pick him up from daycare now. As he's crawling toward me he is saying "dada dada". I hope that ends soon. Im ready to hear "Mama". He has been saying it alittle when his is crying and wants comfort. So I guess that the best. We see the surgeon on Tuesday and I have the feeling we will be heading to the Operating Room to repair his hernia. I understand these type of things need fixed but I have begun to hate being at that stupid hospital. I think I now just as much of the hospital as the nurses do. Oh well, thats what its like being a parent. Ryan likes it because he takes wagon rides and they have tons of toys and give him stuffed animals and blankets. They are really good. Well I better get to work. I have already wasted an hour so only 7 to go. Hope everyone has a great weekend. I will post again next week.

It's official

Well, we officially move starting on April 20Th. I know its crazy, moving the same weekend as Ryan's birthday. Well I never do anything the easy way. Looking forward to a quite area and no one living under us. So I will turn up the stereo and Ryan and I will dance like crazy. Ryan seems to be feeling better today. He was only up a couple times last night coughing and was hungry around 130am. He is in a good mood today. I'm already looking forward to the end of the day. I am tired. OH WELL!!!!!!!!! I know I'll be tired for the next 20 years. Well that's it for now. I have to get some work done and then go look for boxes to move. Have a good day.

What a day.

Well, Ryan is on an antibiotic for more lung issue's and he has a double ear infection. He went for a test, Upper GI, and he has a small hernia. They say its common for the kind of surgery he had. I don't yet if he will have to have surgery. Boy oh Boy, its tough being a parent sometimes. If Ryan wasn't the sweet and mild mannered child he is, I think I might be in the loony bin by now. He seems to be in good spirits and is at Oma's today playing and resting. We had a rough night. He was up alot and we slept in the recliner part of the night. So anyway. I'm at work now and just talked to the manager for the duplex I will hopefully be in soon. They are just working out what is going to be replaced, etc.............. it's frustrating. Well that's all for now. I will keep posting all let you all know what is going on. Getting excited for Ryan's birthday on the 21st.

Easter

Well, Ryan's first Easter was a great one. We went to Grandma Nancy's house. Good food and good company. Ryan ate like he was starving. He opened his basket. He got a huge Elmo and bubbles and his first Jesus book. What was the best was Greg sang and played the guitar. Ryan absolutely loved it. He sat on Oma's lap and listened and danced a little. I think he found a new friend in Greg. He followed him around and was keeping his eye on him. It was a great evening. In 2 weeks we will celebrate Ryan's big day. He is 1. It will hopefully be a great day for him. Im looking forward to what he thinks of cake. I hope he digs in. Hope everyone's Easter was as good as ours. Thank you Gary and Nancy for inviting us. Thank you Greg for great music. You truly have a gift that Ryan loves. Until next time......

Happy Easter

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter. There are many of us that will celebrate our child's first one. I will look forward to hearing what the Easter Bunny brought everyone. I know he will bring Ryan a large Elmo pillow, bubbles and his first Jesus Easter Book. I do think he will probably be more interested in the plastic grass at the bottom of his basket. Have a great weekend and enjoy your family time.

What's new

Well, some of you may know that Ryan has low muscle tone and has had problems with motor skill development. Well, we saw a Neuro-developmental Pediatrician yesterday. He told me that Ryan has severe muscle tone issue's and that it a neurological problem. The next 6 months we will be looking to see if he will gradually develope normal skills of a baby. We will be having genetic testing done just to make sure there are not any abnormal chromosomes and we will be able to rule out a bunch of genetic diseases. He will have alot of testing coming up and we will see the doctor back in 6 months. Ryan see's several different doctors for different issue's. We will see Dr. Akeson in 2 weeks to see what is going to happen with his club feet. We need to progress with correcting this deformity so that as he strengthens his legs the feet wont be an issue. We see Dr. Gootee, a pediatric ENT, to see if there are any abnormalities of his airway and vocal cords. There is a possibility that we will do a bronchoscopy to see if he is still aspirating. He will get his 1 year shots on April 23rd. He has grown so fast. This year flew by. I wanted to get people up to date with what is going on so when I start talking about thing in the future, you will have a clue at what I'm talking about.
NOW TO THE GOOD STUFF:

We will be moving to Princeville at the end of the month. Its a town of 1700 and will hopefully be the place Ryan stays the rest of his childhood. Its seems very quiet. We will live 3 blocks from daycare, 1 block from the grade school, 2 blocks from the high school and 1 1/2 blocks from the pool. We have a good size yard to play in and more room to grow. I am looking forward to getting in and settled and raising Ryan in a decent area with good small town people.

I hope everyone is doing well and hope you all have a Happy Easter Egg 3

Enjoy your time with each other as the moments are gone before we know it.
I suppose I better tell you that I thought it easier to create this blog so everyone is able to see Ryan accomplishments. As I know there will be many. He has been the best blessing in my life and I thank God everyday for him. He is such a special, sweet little boy.

I will write again soon.

Love to you all,
Becky and Ryan Bunny
